2024 Winters Blizzard Homecoming King and Queen candidates: L to R- Addison Anderson, Baylie Bryant, Kaelynn Hoelscher, Felicity Aguero, Isaac Sanchez, Luzion Woods, Diego Rodriguez, and Will Dunham

Our hearts go out to the families, students, staff, and first responders impacted by the horrific act of targeted school violence at Apalachee High School in Winder, Georgia on Wednesday. The recent tragedy reminds us all of the importance of safety and security in schools. We want to assure our families that our district and schools have an updated emergency operations plan that has been created and reviewed in collaboration with local law enforcement. The members of our staff have been trained on the specifics of this plan, and we conduct periodic drills to ensure that everyone knows their role during a crisis. Our district also has specific protocols for entry to our schools, and we appreciate the understanding of our parents as we enforce these protocols for the safety of our children. The safety of our students remains our highest priority. We are thankful for the due diligence of our Staff and Local Law Enforcement in maintaining the safety and security of our district.

We need our WISD alumni to help us ignite our students' curiosity about new careers! Sign up to share your career with our students!
